Malcolm X

I feel that Malcolm X’s article ties into our first unit in the sense that to really get the most out of education and/or the things one is trying to accomplish you have to take initiative. If you do not have the passion, drive, or desire to accomplish your task at hand, whether it is learning to read, program computers, or writing an essay, it will become something that is extremely daunting and not fun. Nor will you learn much about what you’re trying to accomplish or learn much about yourself. I feel like in diving head first into tasks and taking the initiative to accomplish them well you are not only educating yourself about the topic, but also learning about yourself; in the terms of boundaries, strengths, weaknesses, or even finding out you are more able and capable than originally thought.  I feel that all of these ways of approaching tasks and ways of thinking of them can not only be applied to the writing’s we will be doing but also to our real lives. Diving into things head first, doing a lot of research, having a positive attitude about it, and having an open mind, in all aspects of our life including writing is really what helps to mold us as people and the sort of attitude one has to dealing with said experiences.
